@ALV91711: This is what I'm hoping for too! I would love for him to finally drink BM from something other than me.

We used the Nuby, too. It took a bit for him to get used to it, but it worked well once he did.

We used the Nuby. It took LO 2 days to figure it out. I tried it myself and it seemed a little weird at first, but she got it. I also tried the Zoli as per HB recommendations and she used it fine but both me and her nanny hate that thing so it's in the trash.

@ALV91711: I don't really pump, since she wouldn't take the bottle anyway. If I had to be away from her now I'd just put breastmilk in the zoli. I actually returned all my unopened medela bottles right after she took the zoli cup.

@ALV91711 We didn't try a bottle after she took to the Zoli cup. We tried for three - four months all different bottles and nipples (stubborn child is an understatement). When she took to the Zoli, that was the end of our quest. At the time she was six months old, and I was going back to work. She got breast milk in the Zoli when I was away. When she started solids at seven months (six months adjusted) she got a Zoli cup for breast milk and a Zoli cup for water every day. There is no confusion as to which cup is which. At a year old now, and she still gets breast milk in a Zoli and water in a Zoli.

@gardenvariety: @JerricaBenton: Did either of your babies take a bottle after the sippy cup? Or do you give them BM/formula from the sippy cup? I'm hoping that once DS gets the idea of swallowing the water that I can give him milk out of it so that once in a while someone else can feed him.

Lao never took a bottle. We gave her a zoli cup when we started solids at 6 months and she picked it up and sucked up the water on her first try. She loves it! I was surprised since she wouldn't take a bottle before.

We were in the exact same situation as you. We started with the Nuby sippy and the straw cup. No go. Try to drink out of them yourself. It is extremely difficult even as an adult, since you must suck and squeeze the spout with your mouth just so. Next we tried Zoli straw cup. Gold! Still using them today.

My 6 month old refuses every bottle he's tried. A couple weeks ago I started giving him water in a sippy and he loves it. I bought a couple different types. Hard spout, silicone spout. He gets how to get the water out, but most of it just falls down his chin, I'm not sure that he actually swallows any.

We gave DD the Zoli at 6 months when we started solids and she took to it immediately. I'm a fan!

LO is almost 6 months old and we are getting ready to start solids in the next couple of weeks and I'd like to introduce him to water in a sippy/straw cup at the same time. I bought a Nuby sippy cup on a whim today and gave it to him filled with water to see what he would do with it. Since he has refused all 6 bottles/nipples that I've tried giving him, I wasn't sure what to expect. I think he got a little bit of water out of it but he didn't seem like he really knew what to do with it. I've considered getting a Zoli straw cup to see if that works since it's so different from a bottle. Does anyone have any suggestions for brands of cups or ways to get him to learn to drink from a sippy?
