My sister had it really bad, it took her 12 months to have her first LO, 4 or 6 months (can't remember) for her second LO, and 3 months for her third LO. :)

I've had endometriosis, and by the time it was diagnosed, it was pretty advanced and I needed lap surgery to clean everything up. We wouldn't have been able to conceive otherwise. I had surgery in April followed by those menopause-inducing drugs for 3 months to make sure everything was completely gone. We started trying in September and got pregnant the 3rd cycle - I'm now 7 weeks!

I don't have endometriosis but one of my friends does and she's currently 24. She's had some struggles (with both pregnancy and TTC) that I won't go into too much detail about since it's not my place but she has a daughter turning 2 this month and is pregnant with her second so I call that a success!

I have endometriosis. Until you've had a lap surgery and start trying, you don't know how bad it is. It could be all over the place and not blocking your tubes or who knows. It's just one of those things. I was on birth control consistently to stop the periods. That's the only form of treatment for it right now, in addition to a lap surgery, where they remove excess endometrial tissue. I've had it done twice. I've known people who had a lap pre-conceiving. It sort of cleans everything before you start TTC.

Endometriosis did NOT affect me getting pregnant AT ALL. I got pregnant 3 times this past year, very easily. Twice in the second month and a third time when we just stopped paying attention. My troubles were 100% unrelated to endometriosis -- i have a clotting disorder that was causing my issues.

My cousin had it, pretty bad too. She went on drugs to make her go through menapsause, at 22-23, 2 times to see if that would heal it, and it didn't. She ended up doing and IUI and got pregnant with triplets, since she was on drugs (maybe clomid), she had 4 eggs.

I have it and got pregnant 4 months later. We started trying earlier than we had planned in case their were problems, something your sister might want to think about.

My mom had it and tried for 5 years before getting pregnant with me. She got pregnant with me without interventions, she was never able to get pregnant again. She also didn't seek any treatments for it though. Granted, this was almost 30 years ago, too.

My aunt had really severe endometriosis. She struggled to conceive for a year when she was 30,had a lap procedure and was pregnant the next month. They now have four awesome kids.

It's really good that your sister knows what her hurdles are so that when the time comes she can get whatever treatment she needs to make TTC quicker.

Good luck to her!

My sister (24) just texted to tell me she has Endometriosis and that it will affect her trying to have a baby in 2 years. I feel like she's so young still and I don't know the level of severity she has, but I want her to stay positive (she stresses out easily).
Anyone ever have Endometriosis and what was your TTC journey like? I also feel like it shouldn't be too hard for her to get preggers because of her age and the fact that she once did get pregnant she thinks (positive test, but got her period 2 days later).
* Any positive stories? *
Also, I'm not sure but do you think my m/c and need for Progesterone sounds like something similar and maybe she just needs progesterone supplements too? Going to ask my OB all these questions when I see her next!
