Like last winter D was 3 and wearing 12-18m pants. Now granted, he's short for his age, but...not THAT short! Every where else they are a size or two ahead. DD3 is in 18-24 months at BabyGap and 9-12 months at H&M. They are a size ahead at Zara but that stuff seems more true to (normal) size. My 4 month old is 19 lbs already and very chunky, so H&M sounds perfect, although I love the style of Zara. My 3 year old is tall and muscular, but could get away with slimmer styles. Last time I went by measurements on their size charts, I ended up ordering smaller sizes than I normally would. Most of them fit well. If Gap is your go-to, then maybe you should try H&M. I found gap to be quite wide. Zara might be too slim for your needs. Like close to a full size bigger on DD, who has always generally fit into her "age" sizes in other brands. She's 26 months now and just starting to grow into some of her 18-24 month H&M clothing.
