I don't know. I just buy things as I need them. I have been using mainly l'Occitane products over the last year but I can buy them at the commissary so they are much cheaper than retail. I find my products last at least 6 months if not longer, so it's hard to calculate on a quarterly basis.

I've never added up the costs. My permanent routine now consists of:

Face wash (2 kinds: everyday, and super mild)
Essence
Moisturizing toner
Spot treatment (acne)
Lotion (various)
Neck lotion
Exfoliate
Mud mask
Pore mask
Sleep masks (various)
Sheet masks (various)

I'm not exactly sure how my list got so long ... it did take awhile to figure out which items worked for me. I'm not even counting the stuff I've been meaning to use but keep forgetting to!

I wash my face with Nivea cleanser in the shower. I have a pot of Clinique Youth Surge SPF20 that I have had for about 6 months, I ALWAYS forget to use it unless my skin is feeling really dry, which it hardly ever does. I need to be better about sunscreen, living in Australia.
My biggest "beauty" expense is this stupid fancy hand soap - used it at a hotel once and could never go back to normal soap. I rationalise it by not spending anything on makeup and not much on my face.

@Mrs D: here's most of what I use. I'm not wedded to the pm eye cream - after this little tub is gone I'll likely go back to Shisedo. The masks are not pictured.

Right now:

- Missha Super Aqua cleanser $10
- St. Ives green tea scrub $5 every few days
- A Korean ginseng based skin softener and lotion set that I was gifted $90 (Donginbi brand)
- A Korean ginseng oil serum $100 (same brand)

The lotion set and the serum were gifts and they last a year at least - especially that serum is like a drop a day so who knows how long that goes.

Otherwise I replace the ginseng stuff with Kiehl's ultra facial cream - the $46 tub lasts about 6 months for me.

We also buy a gallon jug of BeeKind body lotion twice a year for about $75 but DH and I both use it to slather down our bodies. It's good quality body lotion with a light scent and doesn't irritate DH's sensitive skin.

I feel pretty lucky that my skin is relatively easy to handle! I use Cetaphil Cleanser (a huge $8 tub lasts at least six months), the men's Neutrogena moisturizer (it's cheaper AND had a higher SPF!), and Garnier night cream. Maybe $15 quarterly?

I hardly spend anything- but I think it shows!

Cetaphil cleanser, which lasts forever
Olay moisturizer- with SPF for day, and if I'm being good, the fancier one in the red tub at night (you know, the one the works better than the $400 cream, according to their commercial?)
Occasionally Olay eye cream when I remember

I do splurge on sunscreen in the summer or when I'll be in the sun a lot. I got skinsceuticals this year and it was expensive but I feel like sun protection is one are that will have long term effects.

My skin could definitely look better but I just am too lazy. And I've had reactions to most lotion brands I've tried besides the Olay, and the Olay is cheap and easy to get at Costco, so I stick with it.

Not very much! I buy the facial cleansing pads from trader joes, it's 50 wipes so it lasts me nearly two months. It's less than $5. I also buy St Ives apricot scrub, which is also less than $5 and it takes me 4-5 months to go through it (I exfoliate about 2, maybe 3x a week).
The lotion. I've been using coola with spf. It was my most expensive item, at 30. But I've had it since May and it's not gone yet. I use it twice a day.
So about/less than $50 a year.

I use Cetaphil or Tatcha cleanser (with a Clarisonic), Auspect Vitamin C serum, and La Mer moisturizer (a few other products here and there too, but that's my basic routine). But I also like inexpensive products too, like Sonia Kashuk eye makeup remover (at Target), and CeraVe moisturizer (during the summer).

DH and I share an Origins face wash (~$25) but it lasts a year (I don't wash my face with soap every day). My day cream costs $5 or $6 from Trader Joe's and lasts ages, lol. My night cream costs about $30 (Origins) but again lasts way longer than 3 months. So I'm estimating... $15-20 per quarter, tops?

I'm not very consistent (meaning using all products twice a day) with my skincare regimen, so all in all I spend maybe less than $25/ mo. I have a cleanser, toner, moisturizer, and exfoliating scrub. All can be purchased at a drug store or Ulta.

I'm impressed by the people with all the different products that know how to use them and actually do!
