@aegie: @PinkElephant: @Swoggette:

Hi guys, thanks for thinking about me.

I just got home from our vacation to paradise.
AF showed up halfway through the trip, UGH, on CD 43 without warning. No spotting, no symptoms. No typical cramping or headache the day before.

She just, POOF, showed up in the morning full flow.

That would mean I ovulated late, over a week late (or it was an anovulatory cycle).

I was gutted seeing her on my trip that I totally avoided posting updates on HB. =(

But we are starting anew this cycle. On to cycle #6.

@stiletto_mom I am so sorry you are going through this uncertainty, how frustrating.
I had a really long cycle last month. Granted it was my first one off hbcp and I was thinking my cycle would be close to 30 days. I used my opk's from cd 5 which was right after a very light af. never got a + and I assumed I may have missed it. Once I missed af I wondered if I may be prego. Nothing but bfn's. Finally af showed on cd41. I concluded it must have been annovulatory. Then af was really long this cycle (7 days and have in the past been 4 max) I started the opks on cd 8 of this cycle and ended up with a strong positive on cd 10. I was really shocked. That is my experience.

I was temping and using OPKs and had something similar happen...both times I had weird cycles like this where it seemed like my body got ready to ovulate but didn't. I continued temping and using opks - I eventually did ovulate and both times got pregnant that same (long) cycle. So I say use the sticks!! :)

@stiletto_mom: any updates? AF is still not here so I got blood work done today. Doc said she would jump start my period with clomid if the blood work comes out negative and I still don't get my period in another few days.

@mrscobee: This is a possibility but a scary one. My last period was very very light so I have no idea if that's related. X__X

@aegie: I'm so glad there are others who are going through the same thing. It's a sucky place to be in but definitely good to know I'm not alone. *hugs* Sending baby dust your way!

@stiletto_mom: same here. I'm 23 or 24 dpo and AF is 9 days late. I'm getting pregnancy symptoms but I could also be PMS'ing big time. But all 3 tests have been BFNs. So now I just wish I would get my period already so I can restart. I'm never late and the last time I skipped a period was maybe 10 years ago. So I'm just frustrated more than anything.

I had a cycle like this last August. It lasted like 50 days and was an anovulatory cycle (I think). My theory was that it was stress induced, as we had just started TTC. I had never had one like that before. Hope you get an answer soon, so you can move on to the next.

@stiletto_mom: no advice but I just wanted to say I am in the same boat, I always have a 27-28 day cycle and now I am on cycle day 38 I am so confused :sad: I'm not sure if I should just wait out a period or go talk to my dr. Tested :bfn: 4 days ago

@autumnlove: That's reassuring to hear!

I called my doc today to ask if blood test results would be available same day, but they said no and that it would be available next business day (Monday)... I'll be out of the country on vacay next week so that's not really helpful to me.

I guess all I can do now is to have my fingers crossed that AF doesn't show up during my vacation (but I'll have to pack in preparation for her UGH).

@Adira: Thanks for the advice! I think I'll hold off the OPK sticks (they're expensive) and rely on temps until AF shows up.

I actually started temping a few days ago (when AF was due), so I'm starting to track it now. Hopefully it will give me a better indication this cycle as to what's going on with my body.

@stiletto_mom: I never got BFPs on Wondfos (not even squinters, just nothing) until I was much further along but I got a :bfp: on a First Response at 12 (i think) days DPO.

I know some people don't get BFPs until 16-17 DPO. I think it depends on when implantation happens.

As for the OPKs, I'd just wait until AF showed up before using them. They probably won't be able to tell you much at this point, especially if you've already ovulated.

Also, perhaps next cycle you'd want to consider temping so that you know when you ovulated (and that you actually did, since your LH levels can surge more than once in a cycle and give you false positives).

Out of my last 10 periods, I've had about 2 and almost a 3rd, outliers. So that's about 75% regularity?

But I do usually have spotting a week before AF is due and so far I've got nothing.

Let's say I ovulated late and instead of being at 22dpo, I'd probably be around 12 - 14dpo (judging from my odd symptoms about a week ago that I though signaled AF). Would that be too early for anything to register on an HPT?

I'm about 22dpo. AF is 8 days late today and there is absolutely NO sign of her (no spotting, no cramps, headaches or mood swings). But I've been getting all BFN on dollar store tests.

According to my calendar, I should be starting to use my OPK next Monday...

Should I even bother and save them until after AF shows? I don't want to waste them, but I also don't want to waste a cycle.

Should I use a more expensive digital test? Or just skip right to a blood test? Ugh, I'm so confused.
