She's been getting up on her hands and knees and rocking for a week or two now and today she moved both knees forward and one hand again before giving up. I think she's really close though and I guess she might skip army crawling like your LO's!

My son never army crawled - he did do some spinning in circles, but other than that went straight to rocking and then crawled a few weeks later.

My LO never army crawled. She did a lot of pushing up and rocking instead before actually crawling.

I think some babies skip army crawling. My LO was army crawling for awhile but now he's just interested in pulling up and rocking on all 4s.

My LO never army crawled either and he's an all or nothing kind of guy too. I agree with @pekila: it's amazing how different babies are!!

My son never army crawled. He took his time and started crawling once he could do it all the way or not at all. Isn't it cool how they all develop differently!?!?

So LO has been able to army crawl backwards (somewhat) for a little bit now. It's actually more of her trying to move forward and pushing herself backwards.

She recently has started pushing up on her hands and knees and rocking too. This weekend, she discovered how to move her knees, one at a time and together, to move them forward and she at one point moved both knees one at a time then one of her hands before giving up. I've always been told they army crawl first though. Is she still going to army crawl before crawling or is it possible she'll just skip army crawling forward?
