I used to, but since I'm BFing I make sure to eat something. Plus, now that my body is used to getting breakfast I feel sick if I don't eat and I noticed I'm overall more hungry the rest of the day.

Pre pregnancy I never ate breakfast. I just didn't feel hungry until 10. Now I eat a little something in the morning. It's usually a small bowl or cereal of a piece of fruit. I eat a pretty big lunch.

@mrs. wagon: What about plain coconut water? VERY high in potassium? Personally, I freaking hate bananas. But i need potassium to keep from getting muscle cramps when I work out. If you get bored, I might have some food tricks to help you out :) I get tired of the same foods over and over

I don't have an appetite before 10! But now that my husband is all obsessed with watching our macros (I really don't understand what it all means just yet) I force myself to eat breakfast. I always incorporate protein and I try to include some carbs and limit my carbs for the rest of the day. It must be working because I've been tracking for 4 days and have lost 4 pounds...!

I can't skip breakfast. Even if I eat less than usual (like just a bowl of cereal), I feel lightheaded by the time I can eat again. I typically bring a greek yogurt, some granola and some chia seeds to work. It keeps me full, and gives me enough energy until lunch :) Plus, it takes almost no time to pull together.

No, I feel better and my weight is lower and more stable when I eat regularly throughout the day. I eat on the same schedule as my kiddos - 3 meals, a morning and afternoon snack, and no evening munchies.

@Mamaof2: Nope, it probably wouldn't work for me! i get really nauseous and sick when my blood sugar isn't stable (most of my family is diabetic or hypoglycemic, and I probably have a touch of the latter--I've seen nutritionists for years trying to figure out what meal plans keep me from having those highs and lows), so I've never really been able to go long periods of time without some food (and a very specific balance, too. I can't just snack on, say, an apple, or i feel shitty 30 min later). Plus, eating a huge meal makes me feel kinda shitty, like i want to throw up, so it's sort of lose-lose for me.

I don't eat breakfast. I have a cup of coffee around 8am and then eat lunch around 1pm. I eat a pretty big dinner between 6-7pm. I've lost 100 pounds over the past few years, and I think "intermittent fasting" has helped.

My DH never used to be a breakfast person until we started dating. Even he admits he has so much more energy to get through the day when he has breakfast.

It doesn't have to be a full eggs, hash toast kinda breakfast. You can simply do a protein packed smoothie as well!

@hotchildinthecity: This.

People who do Intermittent Fasting skip meals. You can't argue it doesn't work for these people! But they are combining it with a specific exercise plan, too.

James Clear does it: http://jamesclear.com/the-beginners-guide-to-intermittent-fasting

Lean Gains is a huge proponent of it: http://www.leangains.com/2010/04/leangains-guide.html

Precision Nutrition (one of my personal go-tos) discusses it in depth: http://www.precisionnutrition.com/intermittent-fasting

Nerd Fitness also has a fun/easy to read article on it: http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2013/08/06/a-beginners-guide-to-intermittent-fasting/

I get sick without breakfast, so....it's a must for me. But it obviously works for a lot of people, provided they aren't using it to just cut calories (and therefore going below recommendations) and are eating properly otherwise.

I've actually been to a seminar where a registered dietitian and nutritionist explained how this affects our blood sugar, mood, and ability to focus, and it made a ton of sense.

Essentially, if you don't eat something every 2-3 hours (even if it's a small snack), your blood sugar drops to where you're not functioning at your best. Then when you do eat something, you usually overindulge, which sends your blood sugar skyrocketing, and makes you feel sleepy and bloated.

Her suggestion was eating a protein filled breakfast, a snack about 2-3 hours later, then lunch at your normal time, a snack 2-3 hours later, and a dinner. One large meal cannot last you throughout the day, because anything in your blood sugar takes a maximum of 3-3.5 hours to break down. If it's not going towards muscle, it turns into fat.

It was an incredibly fascinating seminar!

I've been reading a lot lately that it doesn't matter when you eat as long as you hit your calories and macros (if that's your thing). For me, it would be hard to meet my goals in two meals.

I've been skipping breakfast lately, and it feels right for me. I will have coffee in the morning, then usually a big chicken salad for lunch. And then dinner is at home with the family.

I feel bad though, like I'm shirking in my duties by not eating the "most important meal of the day" (according to Super Grover). Anyone else skip breakfast on a regular basis?
