It's usually on DH's phone, so it's just playing with Daddy's phone sort of thing. If that is true, I would assume that skype would be fine, since it is a real true conversation with a person who can respond and talk back to you. We've never counted skype or facetime as the dreaded "screen time". As far as I'm concerned, the more time that DD spends getting to know her faraway relatives through skype, the better!</p> <p>Oh, and our daughter at 18 months loves visiting with Grandma and Papa on skype, showing them her toys, and blowing kisses to them. I have inlaws on another continent and it is a fabulous tool to keep everyone connected.</p> <p>Granted, most of the time, my son was playing off in a corner, not actively looking at the screen. It is amazing to me how my kids respond and interact with my family on the other end. I am 100% all for no screen time till after 2 but we definitely face time at least 3 times a week with my Mom. However; most of the time he is playing and i'm just pointing it at him but he definitely come over and waves at her. To me, he is interacting and it is a short period of time. During the day we listen to music. </p> <p>Now here is we're we disagree. DH thinks DS shouldn't be aloud to skype with family, but I think it is ok. The reason I think it is ok is because it is not flashing images and loud noises. DH thinks screen time is screen time. </p> <p>What do you think and is there anywhere I can get some info? </p>
