@Mrsbells: so I went and bought an over sized pool noodle and managed to wedge it on. It doesn't cover the bottom but covers enough! My mom babysat the night I attached it and said my DD went up and down the rail looking for somewhere to bang her head 😳 She hasn't attempted the sides yet but I may do those too.

No advice here. N still does it now and then at nearly 4. It's mostly when he is too tired. For a while we just ignored it, now with both boys doing it I intervene. I say things like "no thank you. " or "please stop slamming your head it hurts you and mommy". Sometimes all I can do is control them physically from doing it. Their doctor says they will grow out of it, but here I am still waiting.

My son was a head slammer. We just tried to stop him whenever we saw it by picking him up and saying "ouchie!" and he outgrew it eventually. It's a weird comfort thing.

So it's kind of a huge rail.. This is what I did last night (with an additional strip of blanket under the top layer).

Oh no! I don't have experience with this, but my LO will bite objects when she's mad and I can tell it hurts her teeth, so I know the feeling! Hopefully someone will have some good tips for you!

My 18 month old has taken to slamming head when she's mad or upset. She will on the floor, but will on her crib rail in the night time. It is so loud because of how hard she's hitting it that it sounds like construction.

Her forehead is COVERED in bruises. I cut up a fleece blanket and tied it around the crib rail for some padding. I can still hear the banging when she does it so I don't know that it's making a huge difference.

I don't know what else to do :( any experience?
