Thank you all! It helps so much to hear he's on track. I think I was just expecting too much too soon. Us I have been using a paci and that can delay it a half hour to hour some nights but I feel like I'm getting up to keep putting it in his mouth. Sounds like I just need to hang in there. Some people recommended a later bed time but I don't think I can do that to the little guy when he falls asleep right away

Somewhere between 3 - 4 months our guy naturally moved from 8-9 hours of sleep to 12. We really didn't change anything that I know of other than he increased his formula intake to 7 oz bottles 5x a day. Now he has naturally put himself on a 630 / 930 / 1230 / 330 / 630 eating schedule and falls to sleep on his own after bottle usually. I think it may just click when your LO gets older!

Paci and dream feeds are good ideas too.

My son has STTN since 10w old. STTN's definition is I think only 6-7h without food anyways, so you're babe is doing GREAT for 12w old.
My son at that age was doing about 12h total but, woke up for a feed around the 9h mark.
At 10 months old,
he does 12-14h and maybe 4/7 days a week will still wake up for that 9h feed.
I think that's totally normal.

As far as going to sleep earlier goes, I do think it helps. When my son is overly tired, he is a monster to put to sleep :( You gotta catch 'em when they are still cheery.
My son does not and can not stay up any more than 1.5h in between naps. And in between his last nap of the day and his bedtime is 2h.
So, I think you are doing right in that area.

If you really really need to wean that feeding, the book How to Solve Your Child's Sleep Problems (Ferber method), says to do so by decreasing the amount of milk by an ounce a day until the baby is not getting that feeding anymore. Maybe try replacing that feeding with a pacifier?
But for us, a 9h stretch was pretty good, especially since a 3-4 stretch always follows for a total of 12h or more.

Honestly his sleep sounds pretty good for his age! You could try a dream feed when you go to bed to see if that helps extend his sleep. Do you use a paci? Maybe that would help him go back to sleep after his night waking?

My baby just turned 12 weeks old and I went back to work recently. He has been typically sleeping about 8 to 9 hours straight per night for his longest stretch. He usually wakes up very hungry anywhere from 3 AM to 5 AM and eats 6 oz.. Right now he's going to bed between 7:30 PM and 8 PM. He's so fussy and tired by that point that he goes down very easily so I think he's ready.

In the books I've read it says That putting the baby to bed earlier can help him sleep longer and wake up later. Maybe he's just not ready to go longer than eight or nine hours without eating?

I am really struggling with the lack of sleep and work because he wakes up and its getting harder to keep him down the rest of the night till 6/7 am. Should I keep his bedtime at 7:30/8 and try to wake him up to feed him before I go to sleep? Try to keep him up later and let him take a nap at 7:30/8?

Not sure if this information is helpful but his naps haven't really hit a schedule yet but he goes to sleep within two hours of being awake and sleeps typically anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours per nap on a good day. He is formula fed.

Sorry if this is a rambling post. I'm sleep deprived :) would appreciate any advice! Thanks!
