@shopaholic: we did a modified Ferber method, and by we I mean I went for a run while my husband did all the work. CIO is not for me, and I run in the second she cries. C also got hysterical pretty fast & it upset me so, so much.

It was shally difficult because at the time we were also getting her off the bottle. Her bottle was her lovey -- she'd snuggle it and sleep with it like it was a stuffed animal! She was fully drinking from sippy cups by oh my, getting rid of the bottle was an absolute nightmare. DH would sit in her room with her until she fell asleep.

It took awhile, but did work. Now we read a book, give kisses and that's it!

@shopaholic: CIO never worked for A, she just gets more and more angry and worked up! It can take two or three boobs before A settles enough to sleep but it's like she needs the sucking action to calm down. Have you tried lightly wrapping your LO from the chest down before her naps as a sleep cue?

@Mrs. Jump Rope: YES! This is K! Everyone tells me she doesn't want to miss a single thing. She can be hysterically screaming and crying in her crib - as soon as I give up and bring her out, she is ALL smiles and happy to play. But how can an 8 month old need so little sleep? sigh...

Did you "sleep train" meaning CIO? I can't even get her to CIO. She just gets hysterical and vomits all over the crib and herself.

@Kemma: I wish I could keep nursing to nap/sleep, but it doesn't work anymore. She pushes, pulls, pokes me. There is no off button for her anymore.

Yep, Miss A has always "felt" her milestones and it's part of the reason I started nursing to sleep when she started crawling. Most of her night wakings are caused be A crawling to the top of her cot in her sleep.

A couple of articles I've read on the 'net reckon that sleep doesn't really settle down until all baby's teeth are in!

@shopaholic: when she was younger, yes. It still happens but doesn't bother me as much now that she's two, compare to when she was, say, 7mo.

She was an awful sleeper. I always said it was like she didn't want to miss out on something! It's her personality.. She likes to know what's going on & be in the middle if everything, so sleeping is boring compared to what's going on around her!

We sleep trained at a year & it sucked.

Now she tells us "Horton!!" and drags us to her room to read a book before bed.

She didn't nap today bc she was so excited to be at my parents house, but no nap isn't super normal.

I just did her whole nap routine, let her try to fall asleep on her own in the crib and she FINALLY fell asleep after 26 min. Never once stopped moving her arms or legs at some point, rolled onto her front after 3 min. and woke up crying.

Please share if any of these milestones really affected your LOs sleep? I think I'm going nuts. LO CAN NOT stay still to nap. And her night-time sleep is also being affected. She has really started crawling more than a couple feet in the past week. She's also learned to pull up into a sit and pull up into standing. I swear her muscles can't relax and she can't sleep. She is just constantly rolling, crawling, turning, kicking, pulling... even in her sleep. I can't even hold her to nap or rock her to sleep. She is simultaneously pulling and pushing/kicking me.

Does this sound normal? How long did it last?

I was so desperate the past few days, I've dragged out the swing again (didn't work). Dragged out the Miracle Blanket again (didn't work). Tried Motrin (didn't work). Tried making her really tired by playing. Putting her in the baby carrier (works for only about 20 min. and she's scratching, kicking, and pulling me most of the time).

Please, please, please tell me this is a phase. And that maybe she'll get sick of all the moving and finally relax?
