There are really tiny CPAPs out there nowadays, a lot of them have battery options. There is one that is the size of a soda can, but I don't know if it has a battery option. The clunkiest part of a CPAP is the water tank which is a comfort thing and isn't needed to make it work so a lot of times you can detach it. Do you lnow if he is getting a CPAP vs. a BPAP?

Your kids are adorable!

If it’s central sleep apnea, does a CPAP machine help? CPAP would help keep his airways open, but with central apnea, it’s something in his nervous system?

If CPAP does help, I’m sure he’d be able to take it on a trip, at a camp etc. Plus nowadays there are TONS of camps for kids with various medical conditions, staffed with nurses/nursing students etc. I’m sure there are many things he’ll be able to do

@anonysquire: I don't personally have experience with this, but I definitely think they make portable CPAP machines!

My 11m old was just diagnosed with central sleep apnea. It wasn’t a giant shock because we thought he had something going on because of his dwarfism. But it was surprising to find out he has central sleep apnea instead of obstructive. Basically surgery can’t fix it and it’s a life long diagnosis. Does anyone have experience with this? I know I make mountains over mole hills, but I’m freaking out. It feels like my little guy is losing all parts of normalcy. How do you go to scout camp with a cpap machine? 😭😭😭
