LO usually sleeps poorly away from home. We often just end up cobedding because she is clingy, even though we don't do that much at home.

We arrived late last night and she slept about normal- 2 wakeups including when I moved her from the car seat. But she wasn't having her nap this morning. She is in totally new conditions- first time in the pnp, and at night it was even darker than home with blackout shades, but it's way lighter right now for her nap so not sure how that's going to go all day.

We just got back from my parents and lo's sleep was horrible in the night. In the day, fine. Last night she finally slept in stretches longer than 1-1.5. She is also 7 weeks old, so that contributes to it, but I think most of it was so much stimulation in the day, etc.

I think it makes sense for them to wake up more in a new place. I have trouble falling asleep in a new bed! I think you just have to roll with it, do the best you can, and hope it returns to normal quickly!

When we visited my parents in October, M was about 5.5 months and her sleep got totally screwed up. She had been sttn, but on the trip she was waking up at least twice. Then when we got home that continued, and now it's kind of getting better, but it's almost 2 months after, so I am not even convinced it had anything to do with the trip... haha. I hope I didn't scare you!

Does he have his own room? How old is he?

We did our first family visit at 3.5 months, and i had her in a separate room which helped. I basically kept the same conditions -- white noise, black out blinds, cool temperature. Her sleep was actually the same if not better.

How does or did your LO sleep away from home? We have been at my MILs for two nights so far and his previous 1-2 night wakings have shifted to 3-4. Not the worst shift ever but I was getting so spolied and used to the longer stretch! Is this typical? What do you do if anything?
