@hilsy85: Yeah, that's my problem right now. What do you do when the baby seems to be up every 20 minutes all night every night?! Probably an exaggeration but I have no idea how I'd put this in to practice at this point. Maybe when things get more consistent!

Anyhow, the idea is teaching them that they're not getting fed because they're crying. So you have to cut them off at the pass and feed them first. If that makes any sense.

@sloaneandpuffy: ah ok! Thanks for that info...I don't know if I can stomach actually getting up BEFORE LO! Also his sleep is still so erratic that I don't even know when I would set my alarm for!

I used this with my son but for some reason I'm chickening out with my daughter. There is crying involved, but with check-ins. The approach to night weaning does seem reasonable although I didn't need to use it so I don't know if it works. It involves setting your alarm about an hour before your baby usually wakes up to nurse/eat, and then slowly reducing the number of ounces/minutes eating until that feeding is just gone.

@hilsy85 thank you! I found it via A Cup of Jo and I think she describes it better than I could so ill post the link. It's mostly weaning night feeding and putting LO down awake but gentler than CIO. Here's the link:http://joannagoddard.blogspot.com/2012/10/motherhood-mondays-sleep-training-its.html

Hi Everyone! I haven't posted in months bc I'm pretty much a walking zombie these days... but come often for advice. LO is 7 months and was waking 4-5 times per night. We had a major sleep breakthrough last night and I feel compelled to everyone about it since it was just by chance for us that I came across it and I don't think we could have taken months more of no sleep! All I have to say is The Sleep Easy Solution. One night!!!! No I'm not affiliated with the book in any way, just so impressed that it made a lot of sense and worked. That's it. If you are having sleep troubles It might be worth a try :)
