@MOMTOLITTLEB: @ShootingStar: Do you have the standard Woombie? I saw they have a few different options. I feel like a first time parent with all of these sleep gear options!!! :)

For my almost 1 year old we use a woombie (zip up swaddle) then a swaddleme or halo velcro swaddle, then a merlin suit. Some of it depends on your baby. Mine hated the love to dream swaddle. I kept trying it and it was always a fail, so I used different ones.

@Banana330: @snowjewelz: ok thanks! She started hulking out of her swaddles, except the miracle blanket, but I hate reswaddling her in it in the middle of the night. I'm lazy, lol.

@Mrs. Lion: haha, totally second child problems. I got the second size too because she would've been the small size for only a little bit. She fits ok in the bigger size. Maybe I just need to let her get used to her arms up and rubbing her face.

We started using the love to dream swaddle around 2 months. He LOVED it! It was SO comforting for him and has regularly slept 10+ hour stretches since. When he outgrew the small, we bought a medium in the 50/50. He started rolling a few weeks ago, so we had to take the arms off and now are just in a sleepsack. But, he loves to suck on fabric (which he also did in the love to dream swaddle). So, he regularly soothes himself by sucking on the fabric from his pajama sleeves. lol. I can't say enough good things about that swaddle.

The miracle blanket was the only thing that finally got us more than an hour of sleep. Tried swadde blankets, woombie, halo sleepsack swaddle, and Velcro swaddle. After that we moved to the Merlin sleepsuit.

@abbydabbydoodlebug: we didnt find it until later...maybe 3 months? Honestly I cant remember. I know we got the second size so she could grow into it so she couldn't have been super tiny. Oh my memory...#secondchildproblems

DD1 I did the traditional velcro swaddles, then merlin sleep suit, and then nothing

DD2 I did wombie (love it), then love to dream (same thing but with arms up), then currently she is in a zipadeezip till she out grows it.

Both worked for both kids!

@abbydabbydoodlebug: ya like @T.H.O.U.: we started around a week when she was busting out of regular swaddles. She liked to chew on her hand a bit, but she always wanted her hands above her head.

@abbydabbydoodlebug: We started the Love to Dream Arms Up Swaddle very early on. Our little one just really wanted her hands by her face and because of gas pains a regular arms down swaddle didn't let her wiggle enough to get comfortable.

There is an adjustment period of letting them get used to rubbing their face.

@Banana330: @Mrs. Lion: not to threadjack, but when did you start using the love to dream swaddle? I bought the 50/50 one for my 2 month old (because I'll buy anything that says my baby will sleep more) but it seemed like she was rubbing her face a lot with it and disturbing her. I was thinking I tried too early.

The love to dream was the winner for us. I will use that again for sure.

Before that the newborn pods worked great with an AA swaddle on the outside. The pod made it easier to keep them nice and snug.

After trying a few I still like a super tightly wrapped halo sleep sack swaddle. For my late 2015 baby we followed this with zipadee zips and it worked well! Between my first and second babies they changed the halo sacks from needing to be Velcroed in a specific spot that wasn't tight enough (and we just stuck it elsewhere anyway) to a more free place the Velcro wherever in this area kind of thing.

Oh and also still loved our a&a blankets. Of course my second became a total addict and carries them everywhere now.

I used grobags from my fall baby (started using it around 3 weeks) and a lighter tog gro bag for the summer. I really like that brand. She adored it and I only just stopped putting her in it at 19 months because we switched her to a big bed to prep for baby. She still wants to snuggle in them and takes it for a sleepover in her pack and play at my family's house.

I had my 1st LO 3.5 years ago, so I need some updated sleep gear schooling. What do people use these days?? We have a little Velcro sleep swaddle thing and a Zipadeezip (sp?) for when baby is older. But what about sleep suits? Sleep sacks?
