@Periwinkle: Thanks! I hope you are done with this stage soon too! It has been at least a month since he started acting like this. Some of it has been a miserable cold but we have been better for a week and this week has been the worst of it! I guess if we aren't getting any sleep it can't get much worse, right?

@FaithFertility: naps generally are better but not enough to take away from night sleep. Yeah CIO is just not an option for us but I have found that letting them cry for a few minutes while I get a little break helps my sanity and seems to make them ready to go to sleep. Problem is when that wakes up his brother! Thanks for the support!

Ugh, I wish I had some advice but just wanted to share some commiseration and support. We dealt with this one night last week and it is sheer torture. I am hoping this phase passes quickly. 4 months has been the hardest sleep period for us, by far, and I hope we're both coming out the other side of this quickly. Big hugs.

My 4 months old refuses to sleep at night and we need help! He slept for under an hour last night between 9:45 and 3 am. We tried holding and nursing, side lying to nurse, rocking, bouncing, and CIO for about 10 minutes when he woke up his brother. Crying is not an option because his brother is a light sleeper and once he wakes up MOTN he strugglesaid to settle back down and one of us ends up in his room the rest of the night. He normally will give us the best stretches in the RnP but he's starting to outgrow it so we have been trying the mini crib next to the bed and co sleeping. My older boys would usually at least sleep if they were in bed next to me but not this boy! I know my other two had trouble sleeping when working on milestones and he has been trying to roll and sit up but this has been going on for weeks now! Any suggestions? We need some sleep!
