@youboots: Once she could roll in her Merlin suit, we went straight to a sleep sack. If it's very hot, she just sleeps in PJs.

@Mrs.Someone: @mfa_lady: Thank you!

She slept in PJS last night from 10-7 with one night waking at 1:30. So not terrible.

We went straight from Merlin to PJs, and so far (it's only been about a week and a half) it's working just fine. I think it's way easier to transition to PJs from a Merlin than from a swaddle. Our girl was lazier than yours in her Merlin, though, and she was almost six months old before she rolled in it even though she was rolling during the day before that. Ha! A Zipadeezip or something similar could also be good--but didn't work for us because LO needs to suck on her actual fingers to self-soothe. Good luck!

@Mrs. Coral: @Foodnerd81: thanks ladies!! Just woke up. She slept with me for the rest of the night. Looks like pjs it is. She also gets stuck on her belly when she forgets how to roll.

Similar story to @Mrs. Coral: First we switched to swaddling her chest with arms out, then to regular sleep sacks. And yeah we had a few days of her rolling to her tummy and getting stuck and freaking out. Not so fun! But now she is completely a tummy sleeper.

We did not did the sleep sack even when it got warm though. I got a thin muslin one from A&A and would have her in just a onesie underneath. That way when it got cold I didn't have to get her used to a sleep sack again. I don't know if this was necessary but worked for us.

Baby sleep is so hard.

DD is just a month older and also started rolling at 3 months. She's been in her crib since 4-5 weeks. As soon as she started rolling we ditched the swaddle. We did use it for a few nights and wrapped the swaddle part (Halo sleepsack/swaddle) around her mid section only as a transition of sorts. That lasted for a few nights. It got warmer outside and it seemed like the transition didn't phase her so we switched to just PJs. Will break out a sleep sack again in the fall.

The part that killed us is the 2 nights she decided rolling to her tummy was fun, but didn't want to stay there and didn't know how to roll back :wink:

On Friday we moved my 4 month old from a RNP to her crib since she was able to roll on her side in the RNP. After three nights she rolled on her side in the swaddle. So we switched her to the Merlin Sleep Suit. Well she can roll on her side in it also. It's 3am. What comes next? Do I wait to transition her out until she actually rolls over? Is it time for just PJs? Or a sleep sack? Any advice would be appreciated. She still startles herself awake, but she is also big 14+ lbs and has been rolling over since 3mo. Thanks!
