@MK0180: Yup...it was totally our crutch because we knew it worked and wanted our sleep! Fingers crossed for you!

Thanks you guys for commiserating/sharing :) Glad I'm not the only one out there.

@winniebee: Yes he's walking - he was cruising by 12 mos so maybe there's some correlation...

@Mrs D: I think we may have to do this - DS eats so much that I'm not sure sometimes if he is legitimately hungry or what. Admittedly I don't wait it out for a long time - DH and I are so tired that since we know what works we just go for the bottle.

K went through this maybe a smidge later...14-16mos?

She would do this 4-5 times a week for like a month straight. I was at my whits end! Anyways - I had always gone in to her room with a bottle (just habit from the early days) because I knew if I gave her a bottle she would take it and go back to sleep. Finally one night where she had ate good dinner and drank an 8oz bottle before bed (therefore I knew it was not hunger) I just went in...picked her up...gave her a few snuggles and said "its nigh night - back to bed" then walked out...she cried for a bit but eventually went to sleep. This happened a couple more nights then it was like she realized I was serious and she stopped doing it.

Now at almost 24 mos we still have a random (maybe a few times a month) wake up for a lost binky but thats it.

Hang in there!

Unfortunately we dealt with this and it didn't get better until she was closer to 2yr and she was moved out of our room and into a toddler bed. Hang in there.

Is he walking yet? My son had trouble sleeping in the two weeks right before/ around when he started walking (14m). Previously, he STTN and never had problems adjusting when he developed gross motor skills.

DS has fairly STTN since about 4 months old. But as soon as he hit 12 months it's like a light bulb went on and he's up once or twice a night. And crying. The only way to calm him is if we give him some milk in a bottle and then he'll go back to sleep. This has been going for about a month now and it seems like the new normal - ugh. I haven't been this tired since his newborn days - is this something to be concerned about? I've read that kids at this age start to dream vividly so they can get freaked out and try to figure out dreams vs. reality so I'm not sure if this is the case. Any tidbits or advice from other mamas out there? :) Thanks

P.S. he has transitioned from 2 naps to 1 and he'll take a solid 2 hr nap in the middle of the day. He goes down around 7:30ish, wake up around 11 and then again around 3 or 4. He's up for the day at 6 or 6:30.
