I fed through his regressions… after they were over he went back to his normal self. No bad habits formed.

I really struggled with this during our 3 month sleep hell weeks- I noticed she was consistently waking between 9 and 10 and I knew she couldn't be hungry so I made Dh sooth her for those ones. After midnight I pretty much just fed her.

I am so not looking forward to the 4 month sleep regression. :(

I have fed LO in the middle of the night for every one of her regressions and she's always gone back to normal on her own. I'd say if your LO knows how to put himself to sleep he'll go back to putting himself back to sleep when he's done with whatever is waking him up at the moment.

I did, just because she never had a problem going down after eating until about 11 months. I was also not making bottles, so it didn't feel like quite a production... I was basically half asleep the whole time anyway. And she was eating, so I figured she wouldn't actually eat unless she was actually hungry so we went with it.

I fed during her big regression. It was literally the only thing I could do to get her back to sleep. She never fell back asleep on her own during that regression. After about 3.5 weeks, I noticed she was waking to eat, but not really upset or crying. That's when I started sending my husband in to rub her back to get her back to sleep. Within a few days she was back to STTN.

LO is 5-months-old and is still going through the sleep regression. Prior to the regression, LO STTN for 9-10 hours without any feedings. Once the regression hit, he started with three wakeups a night (11pm, 2am, 4am). We put him to sleep drowsy-but-awake and he wakes up several other times at night but plays/kicks until he falls back asleep. He cries during these three wakings.

Since he wakes up crying, I've been feeding him. DH thinks I am starting bad habits since we know he is capable of STTN. Admittedly, there have been times when he is asleep by the time I come back upstairs with a warm bottle.

Should I phase out the nighttime feedings? I just hate hearing him cry at night!
