@Smurfette: Thanks!!
@Alivoo01: Thanks!! And, honestly, I'd say yes it could. Anna goes from fine to screaming within like a day and what we were told is the drainage,coughing,sneezing type stuff is what causes the infections. So, if your LO has any of those cold like symptoms it's possible an ear infection decided to materialize.
I hope that's not the case and that your LO gets to feeling/sleeping better soon!!!

@Crisark: @Smurfette: DS's ear was clear when I took him to the pedi last Friday where we found out he had the flu. Could an ear infection develop between then and now?

@Crisark: Hope your LO feels better soon. *hugs*

@Smurfette: Yep, she also favors her left side when her right ear has the infection and vice versa. We are on our third ear infection in two months in the right and she's had two in the left.
We go back tomorrow for a check up because I'm dealing with the same things you are @Alivoo01.
Also, her ear infections don't seem to present with fevers or other symptoms. That's why we missed it the first go round for more than a week.

@Alivoo01: I was thinking ear infection like @Crisark: said. Laying down could be hurting it.

If not then yeah I would do a refresher sleep training.

Anna only does the 'screaming' when she has an ear infection. That with her horrid sleep are our first indicators.

She's currently going on 3 weeks of not STTN after consistently sleeping wonderfully for 8 months....

@Anagram: Oh no!! DS had that (RSV) when he was 4 months old. Sigh. Having sick kids is so heart breaking!!

And sleep training only went well thanks to your advice/encouragement and sharing your personal story with me!

It may mean a sleep training refresher, but I would wait until he's perfectly well. We are going through similar with our LO who has had bronchiolitis the past week 1/2. I'm not going to do anything about it until she can breathe perfectly at night. =)

We sleep trained DS a few weeks ago and he was doing great! He caught the flu last week; and amazingly, he slept through his coughing and generally slept well. Now that he's better, his sleep is a nightmare! He's been waking up every 2 hours the past 2 days.

Today, he thought he'd wake up wake up at 1am!! No amount of shushing, patting, rocking, etc would settle him down so I laid him on my bed and he was happy. He rolled over to me and started babbling and coughing into my face for 2 hours before drifting off to sleep again. An hour later, he woke up crying hysterically again. It's more screaming than crying really.

Do I need to sleep train him again, or will he naturally go back to "normal" sleep again?? And what does it means if he's screaming more than crying?? It's a gut busting scream.
