10 minutes is my limit, although Hubs is a wimp and usually checks on him after 2 so... it's not working, haha.

10 mins is my max, but I usually go in before unless I know she's overtired and really going to have a tough night.

Agree with others that it depends on the cry, but on average about 15 minutes. He usually falls right back asleep though.

Depends on his cry. Usually it's 5 minutes.

If he's overtired/fighting sleep and me going in wont help matters, I've let him cry up to 20.

ETA: this is after I've exhausted every other method and he's been up for far too long in any case.

Well LO sleeps in the same room as us since we have a one bedroom so I never let her cry for too long. The longest might be 15 minutes and I wanted to pull my hair out. The cries are 100x louder when they are a few steps away from you! Gah!

i do exactly what @hilsy85 does. if she is hysterically crying the most i can wait is like 1-2 minutes. if she is just fussing or tired crying, i will let her go for a bit. i figure, if she is hysterical it has to be for a reason, since she normally puts herself to sleep if she wakes up at night and i do not want to just let her cry herself to sleep in that state.

Are you talking in the middle of the night? I usually give it 20 minutes. If she is just fussy or whining, then I will still wait. If after 20 minutes she is full on crying, then I go in her room. She usually never starts out full on crying. If she does then I go in within a couple minutes.

Totally depends on his cry...if he's hysterical sobbing I'll only wait maybe 2 minutes to see if he calms down. If he's whining, I'll leave him up to 15-20...sometimes he'll do the cry-on-and-off thing, which sucks because I feel like he always stops right as I'm at the door to go in, so I don't and then he ramps up again!

My lo will usually wake up and cry once a night for a minute or two before going back to sleep. In just the past few days, she has had a few very long crying sessions and I've went in and nursed her. I'm doing 15 but MAN it's tough!!!

What's your time limit?
