My GF was just insisting to me tonight that I must sleep train! She did it at 15 months, so that's much later. She said it took 2 nights with crying about 10-15 min. each night? Don't have any practical advice on HOW to sleep train, just wanted to let you know a success story for a much older toddler! Good luck!

I have a few friends who cio with their older LOs (around the 8-9 month mark). It becomes a lot harder when they are older because they will stand in their crib and cry. Just be prepared for a longer battle. Extinction may work better than modified cio, but maybe some other bees have better advice.

definitely not too old. your lo is still pretty young and you'd sleep train her in the same way you would a younger infant. i'd do nights first because they're easier. babies can separate day and night sleep. naps are harder, but if you're lucky they may fall into place naturally.

charlie was easy to night train, harder to nap train. olive was easy to nap train (didn't even cry), and we haven't night trained her yet. i still may and she's 12 months old!

Does anyone have experience sleep training an "older" infant? I have been nursing 10-month old Zoey to sleep and rocking her when she doesn't fall asleep nursing. Lately, I've been rocking her more and for longer periods of time. I think it may be time to try sleep training again. The last time we tried, she was 4 months old and she cried and cried and cried...and then cried some more, so we scrapped it. Is she too old? Am I destined to burn a hole in my carpet from all the pacing? Would love any tips or advice!
