I would just let her CIO the same amount of time. If she cries 10 min more than what she usually cries then I would go check on her. Good luck!

my ped said to continue through teething. there is always going to be something --- growth spurt, teething, milestone, etc. since you gave her tylenol, you know she is ok. stay strong!

Ditto @shopaholic: - I know you are so stressed over this, but find you so humorous through it all! You're handling this with class and grace! I agree with others that I don't worry about fevers under 101. Babies tend to run hot!

My ped said it wasn't a fever unless it was over.. I think it was 101.7?? They said babies naturally are their warmest before bed and in the 99s it 100% normal, not feverish. Because I was wigging out about a constant, low fever a while back!

@pastemoo: I cant suspend it. I have lost years off of my life doing this. So you think I should just let her CIO? No tylenol? I KNOW she is not sick...I'm praying so hard she doesnt wake up!!!!

at night I do temp by skin to skin. Some amount of "hotter at night" is normal. Unless Lo is really burning up (102+), I don't wake him for tylenol/ibuprofen.

I think it's really a personal decision but you can go either way-suspending the training or continuing but you HAVE to pick it up after LO is better if you want the training to stick.

I would also like to note that I hate all motorcyles. All of them. Every loudass one. They cause me even more anxiety as they drive by with their excessively loud eardrum bursting motors. I hate all motorcycles and motorcycle drivers. I also hate anyone who likes motorcyles, because how could you ever like such foolery?

Okay. I feel better. Thanks.

And also...DH came home last night but he's jet lagged. Been sleeping since 4 pm...Zero help with sleep training. ZERO.

I know I am so annoying with all of my sleep training questions but I am so grateful for all of the advice and support you all have given me lately. Thank you:)

So I'm sorry to post my zillionth thread about it, but I don't know how to proceed....

H runs a low grade fever pretty regularly, usually in the low 99s. I have brought her to the ped 2x (including last week) to check for an ear infection (she also grabs at her ears and whines when tired), and she is 100% healthy. She doesnt have teeth yet, but her gums are swollen, so we chalked it up to teething...I just give her tylenol and motrin alternately whenever she gets in the 99s, and I've been giving it to her nightly at bedtime so that when we're doing CIO/extinction, I know she doesnt have pain.

Tonight at bedtime, right after bath, her temp was 99.7. I know that's no big deal, and she acted fine all day so it's definitely teething related (and possibly elevated by the bath) but it still mildly alarmed me bc she's usually more like 99.2ish. I gave her Tylenol at 7pm.

What do I do for wakeups. I cant really let her CIO too long when her gums could be hurting. If it's after 11, when I can give her more tylenol, do I go in and take temp/do tylenol? I take it rectally so that would mean a whole production of taking her out of the crib, changing diaper, temp, etc.

Previously when she's had night wakeups, we just let her CIO and she never cries more than a few mins. But I just want to be prepared for how to handle this if she wakes up tonight and needing to monitor her fever and also not screw up sleep training after I have put blood, sweat, and tears (both of us!!!) into getting her sleep trained.

I'm so high-strung about sleep training as it is. It totally stresses me the F out, and her little fever just kicked it up a notch!

I am so tired of all of this anxiety!!!!

Tonight is night 8 and she still took about 10 mins of on/off crying. It just killlllllls me. This whole thing is totally wiping me out.

If I had known when I started this that it would take so long and still be far from perfect, I dont think I would have signed up for it. She breaks my heart into a million pieces every day! And now my little boo has a fever. Gah!!!

Sorry for the novella!

I feel like if/when my child is finally frickin sleep trained, it will be totally due to HB!!!
