<description>&#60;p&#62;Ok. That's what we did. It is such a fine line between interval checks and extinction when they start calming down. You don't want to go in and soothe when you know they are so close to putting themselves to sleep. Night #2 last night went well. Let's hope night #3 continues in the same pattern.

<description>&#60;p&#62;We are on night #2 of sleep training. We are doing CIO with interval checks. I kissed her good night and put her in the crib. She was quiet and then started crying.  I started my timer once she started crying to check on her in 5 minutes. She calmed down and was quiet before the 5 minutes were up. Then a minute later she started crying again. Do I start the timer up again at this point or do I go in and pat and calm her down? I wasn't quite sure how it works if she calms down before it was time to go in and check. Hope that makes sense!
