DS sleeps so well:) *knock on wood* but I fear his toddler years, so I am tagging myself to this thread for future reference.

That's so great! I'm so glad he's starting to sleep a little better the last two days, even if it is really too early to tell if it's working. I'm hoping for your sake that this is your answer and he starts really sleeping for you!

Thanks! We have an early rising toddler and as much as I hate to spend that kind of money on an alarm clock, I can't deal with these 4am wake ups!

Thanks for this tip! I think something like this may really work for my pre-schooler DD who sleeps upstairs by herself, and sometimes gets scared and comes downstairs crying. I may give it a try!

DS has always been a difficult sleeper. He slept through the night at 12 months but woke up at 5 every morning. Well, ever since he was just over 2 years old, he would wake once a night. At 3, he started waking twice a night. A few months ago, at 3.5 years, he started waking 3 times a night plus waking up for GOOD at 4am.
He wasn't quiet in the early mornings and he has been waking up his baby sister. So, so hard. In result, I wasn't sleeping and I was have problems managing stress because I was so dang tired + dealing with his tired tantrums.

So, I researched sleep training clocks and found this owl. Other sleep training clocks were around $60 but this one was $25 with great reviews.

http://www.diapers.com/p/onaroo-ok-to-wake-owl-with-night-light-and-music-97163?site=CA&utm_source=Google&utm_medium=cpc_D&utm_term=MNV-004&utm_campaign=GooglePLA&CAWELAID=1338710815&utm_content=pla&ca_sku=MNV-004&ca_gpa=pla&ca_kw=%7Bkeyword%7D#

(Ah, long link)
It's a stuffed owl that has a clock with timers inside of it. It lights up, sings a lullaby for a programmed time (I chose 30 minutes), turns off, if he wakes up, we told him to press the owls tummy and the music will turn on, then it turns green when it's time to wake up.

Anyway, we are on night 3 with this little owl. The first night, DS woke up at 4am, he turned on the music, cried for an hour (it was mostly a tantrum about not wanting to sleep) and fell back asleep until the owl turned green. For the past two nights he has slept until 7am until the owl turned green without waking up! I know we still have awhile to go to see if this works but I can't remember the last time he slept until 7am! If ever!

The past few days, he's been happier too. I am so hoping this continues because DD is sleeping better and I'm desparate for sleep too. So, I just had to share!
