@Mae: 6 month?? Give us a break, lol! Yes to definitely keeping us on our toes.......hope we both get less crying asap.
@Mrs. Sunshine: Yeah, I guess babies will just do that without any explanation! Sucks to hear them cry though. At least I guess its "normal." I just felt bad like the sleep training worked, but then seemed to disappear! But last night wasn't too bad at bedtime so maybe just a bad couple days. Who knows.
@twodoghouse: I don't think she's teething, although who knows, but I don't feel or see anything coming. And I don't think she's getting sick. The first night we did this, we did think something was bothering her since she hasn't cried at bedtime in a while, but when we took her out and changed her diaper and etc, she was smiley and giggly, so she had us fooled. Like bam, I got you adult humans. Sorry you guys are having to start over with Alice! I know you know it just suck, suck, sucks to hear them cry like that. We always call O drama baby, and she has lived up to that name since she was born. Lol. Hope its getting better for you guys.

@Mae: Um, 6 month regression what? Sometimes I think we are still in the 4 month regression!

@ellewoods84: Is there a chance that she's teething or getting sick? That could be having an effect maybe? We just ferberized (well, our own version of it because I'm bad at following instructions!) last week and we already got lax with it and basically had to start over last night with Alice. These girls are keeping us on our toes, aren't they?

@ellewoods84: Hi- I have no real advice for you, just commiserating. :/ I think the sleep training is still "working," considering how far you've still come from where you originally started..... but I think setbacks are probably to be expected now and then? At least that's what I tell myself! Our LO was doing so well at night, not even a peep and just falling asleep. Me and DH would high-five each other and remark how awesome our LO was. Now.... he's still a good sleeper at night overall, but he's gone back to fussing/crying every night, for 5-20 minutes. It totally sucks!!! Makes me wonder why, and what did we do wrong/what didn't we do/did I eat something wrong/etc etc etc. But I try to tell myself, nope! It's just him. Haha. Hang in there!

My LO goes back & forth between going down no problem & having a few crying issues. We sleep trained at 7 months & she's 13 months now. Most naps we still have some whining, crying and/or wall kicking. Bedtime is usually smooth but the past two nights I've had to go in & rock for about 5 minutes to get her relaxed enough to fall asleep on her own. Her one MOTN wake up (ugh!) was rough last night too. I went in nursed her & sang her bedtime song like every night but she started crying again so I went in, sang to her again & she still kept crying so I shut our bedroom door, turned off the baby monitor & set a timer for 45 minutes & went back to sleep. She was quiet when I woke back up. She's unpredictable with her sleep. I just do my best to stick to my guns.

noooooo baby o. I'm sorry :( I think there is a 6 mo sleep regression (4, 6, 9, 18... I think?) so maybe that? But I dunno. As usual I'll just say.. babies man.

We have been doing our own version of sleep training the for the last 2 weeks and it has been going really well. In the last 2 weeks the only time we've put her down for bed and she hasn't gone to sleep with no crying was one night when we were traveling and she'd had a weird/off day and she was in a new place. But then tonight she just got more and more upset until she started crying and I was all... what?! Sigh. Keeping us on our toes.

Soooo, we ferberized O baby about 1 month ago. It worked. We have been able to put her down, awake, in her crib, and she has been falling asleep on her own since around day 5-ish, no tears. It usually takes around 15-20 minutes for her to fall asleep, and she usually just rolls around, babbles, etc. Last night, she started crying after around 10 minutes in the crib. She continued to cry for 30 minutes! off and on. We did the 10 minute checks, but she continued to cry. I thought something might be wrong because her cries were pretty hysterical, so we took her out of the crib, changed her diaper (which only had a little pee), read her a couple stories, and then tried the crib again. Nothing was wrong, she was all smiles once she realized bedtime was on hold. It then took her another 20 minutes of crying to fall asleep for good. So, I thought, just a bad night. But NOOOO. Tonight she cried for 40 minutes off and on. It wasn't as hysterical as last night, and she would stop, but then start up again. Wtf. We have been keeping the same awake time as usual with the same bedtime give or take 30 minutes. Has anyone seen a regression like this happen? I am sure it does, but only 1 month after sleep training? It was hard enough to hear her cry the first time and having to do it all over again is so, so hard. It's so sad and makes me feel like the sleep training isn't working (even though it did work, but now seems to be failing)? She is just a couple days short of 6 months old, by the way. Her usual awake time between naps is roughly 2 hours and we usually have her in the crib around the 2 hour-2 hour and 15 minute mark for bedtime, which has been working great, until now. Her naps have been sucking, but they have never been the greatest. Help.
