thanks everyone!
she went down very easily, probably because she is so tired from her lack of sleep the past few days. I know she'll wake up in a few hours and that's when the fun will begin.

@scg00387: Oh good point about tracking progress!!

I kept a Note on my iphone and recorded when we put him down, when he woke up, how long he cried and when he went back to sleep. It was so nice to see the progress over the days and it was super encouraging!

@brady80: make sure you & your SO are on the same page and can support each other, write down what happens so you can track progress, be consistent, and stick to something for 3 days to see if it makes a difference. i think those apply to any method of sleep training! good luck!

Definitely be consistent and go in with a solid plan. We did extinction CIO at 5.5 months and decided that if he woke up before 2am we'd let him CIO. At the next wakeup after 2am I'd feed him. The first few days were hard but it seriously changed my life! It's amazing how much life brightens when you get actual sleep :) Good luck!

Good luck! My advice is to have a plan in place ahead of time- like what will you do if she cries at ten, or twelve, or whatever. That way you aren't second guessing yourself every time. And watch a movie it tv show or something so you aren't sitting there listening and obsessing.

We haven't formally sleep trained yet but let her CIO within limits. It's so hard even for five minutes but she's sleeping better I think. I hope it goes well!

Be consistent. That's 100% the most important thing, no matter what method you're using,

Good luck!

We are a week into the 4 month sleep regression. It has gotten worse each night. Last night she was awake in her crib from 1230-230, was happy for the most part and then got herself to sleep. She woke up 15 minutes later and would only sleep with us or in our arms. She no longer goes down easily when drowsy. Her naps stink too. I talked to our pediatrician and she gave us the green light. She suggested training for the first half if the night and if she gets up after that to nurse. I worry our little one won't go down after that but we'll see. Any words of wisdom?
