@TurtleDoves: um. I'm 31 and still blame the fact that I got "wind" on my stomach is why I got a stomach ache or bathroom issues.

@TurtleDoves: I sometimes wore turtleneck onesies to school. It was such a pain to unsnap and snap for the bathroom. Those and the rompers that buttoned in the back. Ugh!

@shopaholic: totally doesn't answer you question, but Arabs believe the same. My mom had me in a "onesie" until I was like 7yrs old. Then, we wore tucked in undershirts :)
My husband doesn't let LO go without a onesie underneath all his clothes, even another onesie.

Sounds like the birth of a great idea. Pretty soon we can say we knew you before you were rich and famous ;) Think of all the extra Nordy's dough you could make!

@locavore_mama: @T-Mom: Thanks for the encouragement! That's exactly what I was thinking - of when these LOs stop wearing or refuse to wear sleep sacks and/or kick off blankets (like some of my friends' kids!)

@shopaholic: Ooh, this is so cool and I totally see the logic.. I would totally buy one from you, especially if you made in toddler sizes. Good alternative to the sleep sack for older kids who kick off blankets, I think.

@shopaholic: yes! Look for the mink blanket tutorial on Mrs Pen's blog post. I think something like that in a belly band with different liner options would be cute! Sell on Etsy!

Yay! I'm thinking of developing some and making them (among some other things). Do you guys think it's a good idea?

@sunny: I think my mom would wrap them over my pj's. Basically below arpits. She said most important to cover the belly.

I had one when I was growing up. My aunt used to send them over from Japan. I think in Japan they're called haramaki. I've never seen them in the US though.

When I was little, my mom made me sleep in a quilted belly band wrap every night because I would always kick off my blankets. My cousins also had them. They came from Taiwan. I was told that as long as your core was kept warm, you wouldn't get sick from sleeping in the cold. It seems really practical, FWIW.

I've Googled and can't find anything like them, but wonder if any of the other Asian Bees on here had similar ones as a child?

My lack of finding this darn thing is now making me think it'd be a great product to make and sell! lol!
