From 0-8 months, just the pnp mattress was fine for LO. Then we took a 12 day trip when LO was 8 months, and she slept pretty poorly on just the pnp mattress. We got an additional mattress for a 2 week trip when she was 14 months, and she slept much better. He slept as well on just the pad as he did anywhere else that wasn't his crib. But for a whole week of naps and nights in an unfamiliar place with lots of people while teething I wanted him to be as comfortable as possible. </p> <p>For just one day? I can buy one tomorrow for it but he will have to do without for tomorrow .... I'm scared he will be uncomfortable. He's 7 months old. Think he will even notice ? </p> <p>He usually sleeps in a crib but the sitter just converted it to a big boy bed for her son ! </p>
