My Dr said if she rolls there herself and as long as she's not swaddled or in anything that would restrict movement to not worry. But still put her down on her back.

I will add though I switched out of the zipadee shortly after she started tummy sleeping. She somehow caught her arm in the wing and wasn't able to fully extend and roll back one night. Scared me enough to try a regular sleep sack, and she's been fine maybe even better sleeping since.

Ours just started doing this too. I was worried at first but I'm slightly less apprehensive now that I've seen him lift up his head as well as roll onto his back/side while asleep. I think the danger lies in when an adult places them on their tummy for sleep while they still aren't strong enough to move around/ lift and turn their head.

If she puts herself on her belly, I would leave her! In any case, I imagine her neck muscles are at least strong enough to turn her head if she needs to.

After she stopped crying about rolling into her tummy and getting stuck, we stopped flipping her back over. I cannot remember when that was though!

Eta: ever since then she's been a tummy sleeper. Now we just put her right down on her stomach by she's 21 months.

At 14 months I sitll put my tummy sleeper down on her back. She started rolling at 4 months and would get upset the first two nights, so it was an endless battle of rolling her back all night. Then she stopped crying when she rolled on her tummy and I never flipped her again!

So it's happened! LO can roll on her tummy and she did it right before she fell asleep for her nap. I turned her on her side before I left because the nanny was nervous with her sleeping on her tummy on her watch. When did you let your LO stay sleeping on their stomach once they were rolling on their own? She can roll both ways although sometimes she forgets if she's cranky. Also she sleeps in a Zipadeezip so she is mobile enough. I felt like I read somewhere that the first week they learn to roll to their tummies to flip them and after that first week let them do their thing (but put them to sleep on their back to start), but now I feel like I made that up...
