I woke up in the middle of the night and had to poop. It was really unusual for me to have to go #2 during the night so I had a feeling something was up. I kept getting in and out of bed to go. The nurse that taught our childbirth prep class said it was common in the day(s) leading up to labor. Just like you describe normal little poops.</p> <p>ETA I went into preterm labor at almost 33 weeks. I was put on bedrest after that and put on meds to stop contractions. Then I went into labor at 36 weeks and had her. So I had this issue for almost 3 weeks. It is the body's way of cleaning out the lower intestines in prep for labor and birth.</p> <p>I have been super constipated my entire pregnancy. I mean, if I don't take extra fiber, it ain't happenin' and even when I do, it is, well, work. (Oh the perks of pregnancy!) But today I have been a poop machine! Seriously! I go nearly as much as I pee and it isn't like my stomach is messed up. It's not. Totally normal poops. Just a TON of trips to the bathroom! It has been nice not to have to work for it actually. lol. </p> <p>Has anybody ever heard/experienced this? Dr. Google seems to agree but we know how reliable that medical license is....</p> <p>(I knew baby poop was a normal conversation but I never thought I would be discussing my own!) </p>
