@citymouse: yes you use them with medela bottles. We used dr.B's preemie nipples with the medela bottles for the first 10 weeks because of lo's spit up.

I am not sure, because I do not have those bottles, but I think they are standard size bottles. Any standard size nipple should fit any standards size nipple. I have an Ameda pump, and I use the Ameda bottles with Dr. Brown's nipples.

The medela calma would be my suggestion if he's still able to guzzle. You can also just sit him up a bit to drink

@wonderstruck: I guess bc he shouldnt be able able to finish a 2 oz bottle w a slow flow in a couple mins and every few feeds he spits up a ton. Despite us trying to slow him down and burp.

Is there a reason you guys are trying to slow him down - does he seem overwhelmed? From your OP it sounded like you just thought he's drinking too fast, which it seems like that would be pretty difficult with slow flow nipples. But if he's getting overwhelmed by it I like the Medela Calma nipples - crazy expensive, but they were the only thing that worked for us the first month or two.

I second dr brown's preemie nipples. You can use them with the Medela bottles.

@citymouse: Hhmm, she also suggested the Avent that @looch: uses. I am interested in this question too since we have Born Frees, and I think they are too fast.

The bottles that worked really well for us were the Phillips Avent, with the nipples with one hole in them. Not sure what level they are, maybe 1?

We started out using the bottles that came with the Medela Pump, and would pull the nipple out every few swallows to slow DS down. Our Ped told us to try a slow flow nipple. We tried Breast Flow, but it ran down the sides of his mouth and then he stopped removing milk and would just comfort suck. Then we tried Drop Ins and he guzzles them down. We are still pulling the nipple out every few sucks too. We are using slow flow... Are we missing something?
