@Mrs. Lion: I kept thinking I was leaking fluid from about 35 weeks on, doc said I wasn't. But, ultrasound on my due date indicated fluid levels so low that they sent me directly to the hospital for an induction. E was born 2 days later without issue.

@Torchwood: I had a bad head cold at 38 weeks and that's when it started for me - I had to wear pads because every cough and sneeze made me pee! Issue resolved completely about 2 weeks pp. Fun times :silly:

I had a slow leak of fluid that started on my due date - it was like a constant feeling of dampness that wasn't even enough to be pee, more like I had just got a bit sweaty or something. I waited a day before I decided I should get it checked out, and it turned out to be amniotic fluid. The hospital staff made quite a drama out of it and insisted on inducing immediately and iv antibiotics etc - but LO was completely fine.

@Torchwood: I think with my first pregnancy it started near the end...but I can't remember how many weeks. I had the same issue for a few weeks postpartum and then it totally resolved. This time around, I think it started around 14 weeks?

Those who are talking about peeing themselves during/after pregnancy, when did that start? I went to nearly 34 weeks last time, and never had even a hint of that sort of trouble. So does it usually happen later than that? Would love to avoid it again even if I go to term, but not too optimistic since I already have a smaller than normal bladder.

@sorrycharlie: I did this at our baby class. I was 34 weeks, got up to go to the bathroom and my seat was completely wet. Thought my water broke, called doctor, went to our hospital, everything. Nope, lo kicked my bladder and I peed everywhere. They kept asking me if I was still wet and I was like, well, yes! It was so embarrassing.

I thought I had a slow leak with DD1, but they swabbed me and said nope. How mortifying. Just ridiculous discharge. So Now I'm sorta in the same boat..I never really know anymore!

Do you have a lot of discharge? If so (I know this sounds gross) does it smell sweet? If so, that's amniotic fluid you are leaking. I've never had leaking amniotic fluid but my water breaks early (34 weeks with DS and 37 weeks with DD)

I had a slow, high leak with DD. I believe it happened on my due date- every time I got up, a very small amount f fluid would come out. I kept thinking I was just peeing myself a bit. It wasn't enough to make me think my water broke. It kept happening though so my DH said lets go get checked out, and sure enough, my water did break.

I had low fluid towards the end of my pregnancy. The doctor asked if I felt anything leaking which I didn't. She did a quick test with some strips to see if amniotic fluid was leaking and it wasn't. They could always test.

This happened to my BFF. I can't even believe it still. Water broke on a Friday and discharged her from hospital. She delivered on MONDAY. Her water had definitely broken but they didn't do an amniotic fluid test to be sure. Had to have major antibiotics. Pretty sure if they'd done the test they would have known!

I don't have personal experience, however a coworker had this about a week before she got induced, it was discovered there that the baby was in very low fluid. She had no idea, she thought it was just an increase in CM or loose bladder.
