I had to wait until my lo had full neck control to do it. It wasn't comfortable for me to do it before then. Once she had neck control and she could get herself where she needed to be, it worked out well.

I was a B after my milk settled down and was able to nurse DD that way but for some reason with my 1st I couldn't ever get it to work!

I think my breasts are mostly medium (c/d before pregnancy) and we do it every morning now. It took a few months to really get comfortable but I started trying earlier. A pillow between your knees and one sort of wedged behind my back propping me up helps.

I had the LC in the hospital come and help me get positioned because I knew I wanted to be able to, so that really helped.

It worked... I don't think I had to prop DS up, but it's been a while.

Yes, but it took lots of practice and pillows to prop us up. I finally got it figured out at 6 months with my oldest, and it was a life changer. Was able to do it fairly early with my youngest if I used pillows.

I reluctantly nurse side-lying when I really want to doze. But I am never in a position that is actually comfortable for sleeping, and my son usually flails a bit (or pinches me, or whatever) while he's nursing. So it's pretty much always a disappointing experience and I sit there hoping he will unlatch and roll over so I can sleep. I think he prefers to nurse when I am in the glider with the boppy on my lap. I say this because he seems less fidgety in that position.

I was a C/D before pregnancy and am about the same size now.

I never got it to work, but I think I stopped trying around 5-6 months. As much as I wanted it to work, I'm actually sort of glad it didn't in retrospect. Bc I pick her up to nurse, I've had to figure out ways to unlatch her. Some of my friends who side nurse have perms latch babies. My LO isnt a great sleeper, but at least I've avoided that problem.

I couldn't do it until LO was older (3-4 months old) and even then I had to be rolled so far on my side that I was almost laying on top of her. Once she was closer to 6 months or so it started to get easier and more enjoyable for me as I didn't feel like I had to stay wide awake the whole time.

It's my favorite. I'm a barely B before baby and maybe a small C now...I lay baby on his side and I'm on my side with my arm up by my head so my boob can be as close to the mattress as possible. It works out awesome.

Kind of like this (found picture online):

I'm generally an A cup, maybe B when breastfeeding. I really wanted side lying feeding to work with LO but I could not figure it out. I'd like to try again with LO2 when he arrives. I have a few things working against me so I'd like to figure out if small breasts were a big part of the problem.
