I'm a huge bump carrier and amazed at these pics!
Pregnancy is so different on different bodies! I can't hide it past 8 weeks so I'm kinda jealous.

@LindsayInNY: haha i don't think the insulation matters ;) in my case, my abs didn't separate for a long time, which i think held my little bump in!

@MrsKoala: Then I love you :) I wish though!

@Pirouette: I have abs in the sense that if I work out, it takes a LOT for my abs to be sore. But I also have a layer of insulation covering them ;)

I'm 5'3 and didn't show for a LONG time because of my abs! so there might be something to that if you have strong abs. but i certainly wasn't noticeably pregnant at 17 weeks - i think i told work around 17 weeks because i figured i'd start showing soon, but i wasn't no doubter pregnant until midway through the 3rd tri (which, incidentally, was when she started measuring behind!) so basically, my bump was small when she was measuring normal and then got bigger when she started measuring small. I know you're worried, but i'm sure everything is JUST PERFECT! :) everyone does show differently, and the size of your bump has very little to do with the health of your baby.

@LindsayInNY: I didn't really start showing noticeably until about 19 weeks. I kind of went from nothing straight to a bump. Around 17-18 weeks, I started telling people at work who I didn't see often, and most of them had no idea until I told them. I am on the tall side (5'7") but I have a pretty short torso and eventually ended up growing straight out (didn't look pregnant from behind at all). My LO was pretty big (8lbs5oz, 21") and I got a lot of comments about how surprised people were about his size!

Here's a bump pic of me around 19/20 weeks. It was kind of an overnight thing.

Aren't you taller or you at least have a longer torso? It takes longer to show in those cases. I had no bump at 17 weeks. Just looked bloated. I didn't get a true bump until 22/23 weeks and even then it just looked like I was getting fatter. I only looked pregnant around 28 weeks.

This is me at 17 weeks - and keep in mind i have clips on this dress pulling it as tight as it will go to try and show what little bump i did have. I don't think you could really tell i was pregnant (and not just chubby) until about 29-31 weeks. At my shower at 32 weeks TONS of people were telling me how small i was.. but whatever, every body is different before pregnancy, it makes sense that they'd be different during pregnancy, too.

@LindsayInNY: also no two pregnancies are alike. I do show early but with my second pregnancy my belly never got as big as it did with my first especially towards the end. Turns out my second child was just about 3 inches smaller than my first. That explains why the belly never got as big. So baby's sizing might also have an effect on your belly's size! :heart:

@LindsayInNY: I'm 18 weeks with #2 and only people Ive told can tell I'm pregnant. I got anxious a few times waiting for kicks but I know from #1 everyone carries differently.

I made it to 6 months with #1 before I popped. A pregnant woman asked me for my seat on the train when I was nine months. I was eventually sent for a growth scan with #1. LO's bones were so big they estimated her to be 9.5lbs. She was skinny, 6.5lbs, but long and perfectly healthy.

@LindsayInNY: I'm 27 weeks now, unless you know i'm pregnant people don't assume I am. Probably just look like I have a gut. I definitely have a mini bump but as my DH says, less stretch marks and saggy belly to deal with after hopefully! My friend is due 10 weeks behind me and i'm sure people would guess she's due around the same time as me.

I've finally stopped bringing up my weight and bump size with my doctor. I'm 29 weeks now but look a lot less, and frequently get, "You're so small!" It really worried me that maybe baby wasn't developing properly. I was eating plenty, and healthy, but wasn't putting on weight until recently. Anyway, my doc isn't worried and baby was measuring in the 50 % at the 20 week ultrasound. I've just come to the realization that our bodies all handle pregnancy differently.
