Or just plain mochi with sweet red bean filling? Its sticky and chewy and sweet but not terribly messy. MIL runs a daycare and she always asks people to bring rice krispie treats instead of cake bc it makes a mess. Maybe you can make a fancy looking rice krispie cake decorated with M&amp;Ms or something and make a small one for your son to eat. Or how about mini donuts or donut holes?
