This reminds me of the office episode where Pam is pregnant and has extra strong smell and talks to Phillis about her heavy use of perfume. Phillis did not take it well.

I agree, this should be addressed by HR. Check out this thread for the tips/ script your manager or HR should use with your coworker.

I agree with talking to a manager.

It's one thing if you just don't like the smell. But if it's legitimately making you sick, then I'd talk to someone above both of you. See if they can mention it in a way so that she wouldn't know who brought it up.

Ha, Chinese herbs.

I would tell your manager, HR or have an awkward but polite conversation with smelly coworker.

Can/should/do I say anything to my coworker about her smell?? She smells like Chinese herbs and it's REALLY strong.. It's been about 1 month now... I thought it was her tea at first but she comes into the office with the scent.

The thing is, I think this smell is tied to her TTC. She is a bit "older," has had an ectopic preg, subsequent tough pregnancy and healthy baby, and is TTC #2. I know her mom (flew in from China) is around to help with her infant and so I'm thinking that may also be a factor.

We aren't super close but do share baby stories from time to time and she has talked to me about her struggles to conceive. Some days I can just deal with it but some days it is particular strong (or I am particularly sensitive) and it literally gives me a migraine.

Should I just bring in some sort of scented thingy for my desk? Email her about it (though she sits right next to me)?? Ask if she is drinking a new tea?? Stfu and just silently hope she gets preg soon and the smell goes away??

I thought I could deal with it but it is driving me batty!! :( Others have commented on it but no one has said anything to her.
