We do yogurt, milk, banana, and whatever frozen fruit we have in the house. If I need to pump calories in him I add a spoonful of coconut oil - can't taste it. I thin it out enough so that he can suck it through his regular straw cups.

@twodoghouse: great idea to buy thicker straws! I'll have to look for them at the store.

I'm pretty boring with my smoothies but DD likes the ones I make. I just put in banana, frozen berries, couple spoonfuls of vanilla yoghurt and some OJ. Sometimes I'll add in spinach or kale if I have it in the fridge.

I use plain Greek yogurt, a banana, whatever berries we have in the fridge (usually strawberries and blueberries), and a couple spoonfuls of peanut butter. Then I thin it out with whole milk so it's easier for them to suck it up. I just put them in regular open cups with a straw. When I remember, I grab bags of milkshake straws, which are thicker so it's easier for them to suck the smoothie up. They love to have smoothies for breakfast, then I freeze the extra into Popsicles for dessert later in the day!

We freeze ours and have breakfast Popsicles!! Usually Greek yogurt, honey, fruit (generally raspberries), and a handful of spinach or half an avocado. If they drink one we just use take and toss straw cups.

My son loves them - I call them milkshakes. I just use regular cups and straws. We use them mostly as an excuse to get vegetables into him so our most common combination is spinach, strawberries, and a few handfuls of a frozen mixed fruit (mango, pineapple, peaches, strawberries). Sometimes a few scoops of yogurt. I've also found you can partially defrost some baby carrots and throw them in and it's undetectable.

Does your LO drink smoothies? If so, what do you put in them and what kind of straw cups do you use for them?

DH just started getting into smoothies and of course the girls want what dad has! So far we have only tried strawberry banana and strawberry/banana/blueberry. I need some more kid friendly ideas.
