@winniebee: FYI we used to LOVE Craftsman but have not been very happy with their products in recent years. One of which is the riding lawnmower my ILs gifted as a housewarming. SO many issues with it!

Good to know about the driveway width. Our driveway is more like 1.5 cars wide. Lol

I'm hoping to stick with Lowes because we have a card and get 5% off everyday. Or can get 10% with BIL's 10% retired military discount and they regularly offer 0% financing for card members! :)

We actually just looked at them today at Sears - they recommended a 26 inch one for a 2 car driveway that's relatively level. There are models that make it easier to swivel and you can blow the snow in 4 directions) but we were looking at Craftsman models ranging from $600-$1000. This is the one we were thinking of getting - and if you open a Sears card can do 5% off or 0% financing for a year (and we're looking at buying a lawn mower and a treadmill too so probably would open a card). I'll price compare with home depot and lower.

We have two, an electric one for the fluffy snow and a gas one for the heavy, wet stuff. We got the gas one at Home Depot, it's nothing fancy, but it gets the job done.

Fwiw...the deals in CL sometimes can justify the "risk". My dads snowblower was purchased for less than 20% the cost by a homeowner who underestimated her ability to pull the starter cord...so it was literally used like 4 times! :)

@regberadaisy: Costco may be a good option for you - as it extends the warranty I think.

We have a local repair shop where my dad takes everything he buys off CL to be inspected before buying (he pays $25 for the inspection) our generator came from CL and it's been great!

@gotkimchi: @petunia354: thanks! I'll check that brand out.

@Mrs D: a big purchase like that off CL scares me! I want to have a warranty. We got a generator last year! It was from BJs with a coupon, so we got a really good deal!

We have an ariens. My grandpa did a cost comparison and daid that was the best for our size driveway etc. it depends on how big your driveway is because you can get different widths

Does anyone have one they love?

We live in Snow country with a big driveway. I'm trying to convince DH the days of manually shoveling are over!
