We used to call it the carnival ride - my son was only 5 lbs at birth and he FLEW in it. But he also loved it so we didn't mind it went fast!

@zippylef: ours too. my husband jokes about building her a snugabunny that can grown with her. She'd be so happy if she could still nap in her snugabunny.

I thought so too at first, but C LOVED that thing. She outgrew it before she lost interest.

I put LO in there the first week on the lowest setting, it's fast but she fell asleep. Then once she was asleep I'd turn it off.

@MamaMoose: I felt the same way initially. As she gains weight the swing will slow down. I actually didn't use it for a little while because it felt so fast.

Yes. We thought the same thing when he was tiny, but once he started gaining a bit of weight, it was totally a non-issue. By the time we stopped using the swing a lot (4-5 months) I actually wished there was a faster setting!

So does anyone else feel like the swing goes REALLY fast? I put LO in there yesterday to try it out. And while she did stop crying immediately I just did not feel comfortable with how fast it was going even on the lowest setting. She tends to spit up a fair amount and I think that much motion would just upset her tummy more. She's only 5 days old... Once she's bigger and weighs more will that slow down the swing?
