Once we put it on the highest speed, my LO would take longggg naps in it - it was great since he wasn't a great crib napper at that point. When LO was a newborn we would put it on 2. As he got bigger and the swing got more use it slowed down a lot! We are still using it 6 months later but it's not near as fast! I have heard the motor goes out on them easily.. Like TidyBee, we watched the Happiest Baby on the Block and he recommended fast swings. He hated it at first. Once he was about 4-5 weeks though I put him in it at 1-2 speed and he's stayed at that speed ever since (now 10.5 weeks). It seems Fast but I also swing her left to right to soothe her relatively fast (I swivel my top half at the hip).</p> <p>ETA - she was 8 lbs by that point.
