@KT326: Thanks! I will just be over here agonizing through a little bit of sleep training. But I know its for the best. My first girl sleeps so amazing. I need this girl to do it, too! Those dock a tots look so nice, but I'm a nervous SIDS freak.

@JJ2626: That is exactly what we did for our second son. @agold: I vote cold turkey too. The first few nights will be rough but it will be so much better when she is sleeping in her crib. I wouldn't use the dock a tot now that she is rolling.

@JJ2626: Thank you for this! This is what I will do and just plan for a few bad night. But they can't be worse than what I'm already doing and I am so worried I'm setting her up to be a sleep failure.

I don’t know about the dock a tot but I say just put her in the crib cold turkey! Our LO did wake up when rolling for a few days, but we just put her back on her back a couple of times per night. If it got to be more than that, we let her figure it out and she never cried more than a minute or two. Then a couple weeks later she started sleeping on her stomach and is an amazing sleeper!

Bumping this thread!!

I've done something terrible and let my DD2 sleep in the rock and play until she almost 6 months old! Her little feet hang over the side! And she rolls now! I need to transfer her to crib asap, but she is rolling so she wakes up and cries! Also.. she was sick the last couple of night and I held her the entire night long!!! I'm a sucker, but I need to get her in her crib asap because this will only get harder as time goes on.

Do people actually leave the dock a tot in the crib all night? I'm thinking its a SIDS trap but I want to know what everyone is doing! How do I get my rolling baby into the crib without just a massive CIO week?

@Mrs. Peas: Do/did you put the dock a tot in your baby's crib for sleeping at night? Im about to transition my 5 month old to a crib and was curious about the dock a tot. (I'm also worried about suffocation, though!)

@CatchAFallingStar: I use the dockatot and I was posting that above cause I just wanted to clarify. I don’t see how my swaddled baby could suffocate in this, she’s like 6 inches away from me in the cosleeper and she can’t roll, especially not when swaddled! It’s safer than in my bed with a rolling 3 yo!

My baby isn’t rolling over yet and is swaddled when she sleeps, so I’m wasn’t concerned about suffocation. But, hmmm. Maybe I should be?

I got the Snuggle Me Organic and so far, it’s amazing! She is sleeping so peacefully in it. However, I still can’t believe the price. Seems insane for basically a pillow with no middle!!

Yeah, I hate to be the wet blanket, but this article explains why you may want to pass due to safety reasons: http://www.candokiddo.com/news/is-dockatot-safe

Something to consider with your decision.

@mrsbubbletea: @mrsbubbletea: True, I would imagine that suffocation is the biggest risk in these sleep cushions. There are some theories regarding rebreathing CO2 and such for SIDS that the whole thing just makes me nervous. But good clarifying point.

I will say I just saw a dock a tot in person/in use and I don’t really get it. It doesn’t seem like there’s much to it but also doesn’t really seem safe for sleeping? With the padded sides?

Just read the description of the Snuggle Me and the center is not padded to take on the firmness of the surface you use it on. No. That means you put it on the floor and it’s stiff and hard as a plank.

I kind of think I might get the snuggle me if I knew about it. have a dock a tot. The design of the snuggle me looks a little more cozy. Then again my baby is pretty big so maybe it would be too cozy in a way.

I’m using the dock a tot. I don’t think I would have spent the $$$ myself but I had some gift cards to Nordstrom. My son just started sleeping again in it (he’s 11 weeks). It was great in the very early days as a safe place to put him down. Then he didn’t love sleeping flat so it became an expensive cat bed. Now I’ve transitined him back to the crib from the rock n play/swing (but at an incline) and the dock helpsnto create a cosy environment. He’s sleeping well at night in it.

I think they are both free returns from Amazon - maybe order both and send back the one you like less? I ordered the snuggle me, realized quickly my LO didn't like it (no reason in particular, it just wasn't to his taste), and it was free returns so didn't have to pay to ship it back...

The dock a tot was gifted to me for my second and I used it every day for the first few months. We live in a small apartment so I just carried it around room to room and laid the baby in it. I also used it as a co-sleeper in our bed for a while (until we transitioned baby into own room/crib around 6mo). we traveled with it cross country for a few trips as well and it was so nice to not have to lug around a travel crib.
