hmm interesting! maybe I'll just play it by ear and wait until she's actually teething to try things out :)

@sorrycharlie: It did take her a little bit to figure out how to make it vibrate but she's hardcore teething right not and she LOVES the vibration on her gums. I just kind of let her hold it and stick it in her mouth and then I reached down and pushed the vibrator to show her what to do. I did it a few times and then she got the hang of doing it herself.

We got ours at grocery store. DD and DS much prefer the vibrating teethers to frozen rings; although both of them really like chewing on cloth the best!

Liv was the same as @sloaneandpuffy: She never really nommed on them, she played with them. Except for Sophie, And when I needed something cold, I would steam and puree an apple, put a teaspoon of the puree on a baby washcloth, twist it, and freeze it. She would gnaw on that because it tasted yummy and felt good on her gummies

I don't have one of those, but I would not spend too much time trying to obtain one if I were you. We had normal teethers (cold and otherwise) and my kid never really got what they were for! Sometimes he sucked on them for a minute but mostly he thought they were toys. So it might be a waste anyway.

@sorrycharlie: That's ours. It takes a decent amount of force in the right spot!

@zippylef: yes that is what I was picturing! is it hard for her to make vibrate? I'm wondering if maybe the ones at BRU weren't dead, if I just wasn't pinching them hard enough to try them out? haha. or maybe it doesn't vibrate enough that I noticed it?

Yup, that's the one. He was never in love with it. Sophie was probably best for us, an other soft silicone ones he could actually manipulate with his mouth.

@anonysquire: haha.

I think I got one at Walmart. LO really couldn't bite it with enough force until he was maybe 10 mos or so.

When I was registering, a friend said her sister swore by vibrating teethers. I tried to find one at babies r us, but they were all dead - and the packaging said the battery wasn't replaceable. umm..okay then!

so I thought I'd order 1-2 from amazon (or elsewhere, if anyone knows where to find them?) but I'm nervous they will come and be dead.

did you buy one? was it worth it? WHERE did you get it??
