@arielle9510: no! your temps are at the low points when you're having your period. it's at the high points when you're ovulating.

@NYCALIMAMA- I'm new to charting, but I thought your temp was usually higher during your period? Is that correct? That's why I'm confused if this is my period. But you are totally right that it'll probably make more sense as I chart for a couple more months.

FF just goes off of averages so you can't trust their date. I don't have an answer for you, but I do think temping is the easiest way to try to figure it out! I've also never heard a doctor say spotting counts as a period. Everything counts CD1 as bright red bleeding. My first cycle was normal, then month 2 was 40 days! It was really frustrating, but i wasn't temping. I think that would have helped a lot.

Good luck!

If you are bleeding more now and your temp dropped, then I'd agree that this sounds like the start of a new cycle. Thing with charting is that sometimes it doesn't make sense til you've seen a few cycles in hindsight.

I don't feel like I know enough to analyze your situation but I wanted to let you know that it took forever for my body to figure itself out post BC. I got three light, but kind of normal periods and then I didn't get my period for almost a year! I wasn't TTC at the time so I didn't really mind and now my period is regular (well with the exception of the last 2 months). It's so difficult to say what is normal :( My friend went off the pill, had a normal period and got pregnant during the next cycle. It's certainly enough to drive you crazy!

So I went to my doctors appointment this past Monday because 2 months off BC I had only been cramping and then spotting a few days later instead of getting a full on AF. The doctor told me to count the spotting as my period as it could take a while for the body to adjust after going off BC. I had spotting on the 24th and started counting my cycle based on that.

Well yesterday I had a little more spotting and today I had a lot! More like it would be right before I would get my period. I'm happy that I'm starting to bleed a little more normally but now I'm so confused as to where I am in my cycle! FF estimates my ovulation around the 9th. Also, my temps had been high last week and now have gone down which just adds to my confusion.

I guess I'll just continue to temp and see if I get a thermal shift around the estimated time. What do you ladies think?
