I think there are many permanent residents who contribute to their communities in many positive ways and should have a voice and say in how their communities are governed. After 5 years (3 if you marry a citizen) you can apply for citizenship. THeir law allows lawful long term residents to vote in elections for their prime minister. Over here you can only vote if you are a US citizen. Do you agree with this.
