I guess he'd mentioned that he liked the idea of getting married on a one-number date, like 07/07/07 or, 08/08/08, because it would be neat.<br /> Well, I'm pretty sure I know who blabbed, but suddenly people start congratulating me, and I'm all confused and surprised. I knew we would get married, but where was I for this proposal, hmm? He was all embarrassed.</p> <p>So THEN we visit my twin in another state early in '07, probably around Easter. Her boyfriend was a musician who sang gigs at the local tiny coffee shop. He'd wrote a song about "Cliche" and instead of the proper ending finished it with "FrogTwin will you be my wife?" (but with her name of course!)<br /> She'd had her camera to record him, but I'd thought she was taking pictures. After a noticable pause to process the wording change, she promptly dumps the camera in my lap with a gasp and a "hold this", and so the tackle and hug is not on film, and it ends right after the video gets back centered on them because I tried to take a picture. :(</p> <p>Sitting around the house one day, hubby asked me to get him something from his wallet, I don't even remember. Afterwards, he became incredibly moody and I finally asked him what was wrong. He said he ruined the surprise, and I had no idea what he was talking about. Apparently he had the receipt for an engagement ring still in his wallet and he thought I had seen it. Well, now the surprise truly was ruined. I was all excited and promised that I'd be happy however he decided to propose, it would still be a surprise.</p> <p>LilFrogSis got married the first of us 3 girls, On 07/05/07.</p> <p>On the way to the courthouse in my little red convertible, and windy and glorious, he said it felt weird for her to be getting married before us, who had been together longer, and I din't even have a ring yet. Something like that. He pulls the ring box out of his pocket, and I squeal and get SUPER excited to finally see it. I mash him with one of those awkward sideways car hugs and then open the box...</p> <p>and it's EMPTY! :shocked: </p> <p>He held up his hand with that smirk he gets, a sparkly ring on his pinky finger, and asks if I will marry him. I had nappy hair and pants not fully dry because I was in the middle of drying jeans and was rushed to the mall.<br /> I sat on Santa's lap and he said "What do you want for Christmas?" I was being sarcastic b/c I didn't want to be there so I said "A doll."</p> <p>He said "I know what you really want..." and DH got down on one knee</p> <p>I shook my head out of shock so it probably looked like I was saying no. It's our dating anniversary and he said he wanted to start it off watching the sunrise. I was none the wiser since we always talk about watching the sun rise. The only thing was that it was cloudy so we didn't actually see it rise but that was when he got down on one knee and proposed! Along the way following the ribbon were three hand written notes he left me with clues as to what to do next and how much he loved me and with each note was a long stemmed red rose. In front of the closed door were the rest of the dozen roses. I finally opened the door and he was on one knee with the ring and asked me :)<br /> He also set the mood by having all the lights off in the house except for the lights on the Christmas tree. I went upstairs to shower and I thought 'well, i thought he was going to propose today, but this was a nice x-mas anyways!' and went back down lookin all crappy in pjs and such, and he pulled out the x-mas poppers that my mom had given us as and wanted to pull them. I pulled mine apart and something flew across the room... I went to look for it and as soon as I saw it was a ring I burst into tears! I turned around and he was on both knees and he hugged me around the waist and said, marry me, baby? We already ate dinner but I was still hungry so we stopped at a beach side shack for hot dogs and beers (fancy). We were talking for a while then I kept whining about how I had to pee, and wanted to go back, and I was cold, and blah blah. Finally he was just like "dammit woman! give me five minutes!" and gave me the ring and said really sweet things. I honestly was not expecting it at all as we had agreed no rings, no proposals, let's just get married. We'd gone ring shopping together, so I knew it was coming, but I didn't expect it that soon. He had the day off, but I had to work, and then we had dinner reservations at Del Frisco's in Center City Philly. I got home from work around 4, and when he picked me up at the train station, he was already all dressed up for our dinner (which was a 9pm). I thought it was weird, but he's a weird dude. So we got home and when I walked in the door there were rose petals on the floor. I looked at him and he just told me to follow them. They led me up to our bedroom, where there was a dozen roses in a vase with a card propped in front. Hubs is a man of few words, so he let the card do the talking. He added a line at the end that said "So I just have one question to ask you...." and I turned around and he was down on one knee. He said something like "Will you?" and my response was something equally eloquent like, "You know I will!" I kind of had a feeling he was going to propose because he was so nervous. We went out on the rocks and he told me he bet he could throw a rock further than I could.
