This is with insurance. I had to pay over $700 out of pocket when I suddenly started seeing spots in my vision while pregnant. We went to the ER because my OB was already closed and my insurance nurse line said I should get looked at right away. All they did was take my blood pressure waited awhile, then took it again and then sent me home! Excruciating back pain, early back labor (which stopped), one overnight visit with some cervical checks and drugs and the bill was over $1,000 after insurance. It definitely makes a bad experience even worse :( But oddly enough, my L&amp;D coverage must have rocked because that bill was HALF as much as my early labor bill and I was in the hospital longer and it included all of my pre-pregnancy OB visits as well! Insurance is weird. I was in so much pain I was wailing through each contraction I had under the stomach pain. 100x worse pain than my pitocin induced contractions I had a week later. </p> <p>They charged me $2,000 AFTER insurance for some monitoring, blood work, Mylanta, excruciating cervical checks, tears, and a traumatizing experience. I left with no baby and no answers as to why I had so much pain. Just adds insult to injury. Brings back the rage I felt that day when they said "youre fine! Your pains gone. You can go home!"</p> <p>Guess it's not unexpected but now I'm really dreading my L&amp;D bill that includes an induction and c-section. </p>
