@fussygal: To be honest, I had a video monitor with LO1 and it broke, and I've decided not to replace it. I would spend too much time stressing or waking up in the middle of the night to check on her, and it was affecting my sleep.

As regards to the question, my LO actually ended up preferring to sleep on her tummy so she grew to love it and would go back to sleep. In the beginning I would let her fuss and try to figure it out on her own for about 10 minutes (she was never swaddled or in a sleep sack.)

@fussygal: We're going through this exact thing right now. I have no idea how long it lasts but I'm so ready for it to be over.

@fussygal: actually the video monitor made it a bit worse for me, i think, because i would keep looking at it and know when a limb was stuck, even if LO was still sleeping. however since i knew the limb was stuck, i would wait on pins and needles to see if LO would start crying or get it out on his own!

@edelweiss: We've had her get an arm stuck in the slats once or twice, too :( This whole thing makes me wish we had a video monitor.

i think we had a couple of weeks of this--although not every night. she'll get the hang of it!

then we had a period where LO would manage to get a limb stuck in the crib slats and wasn't coordinated enough to get out on his own quickly. that was annoying.

Unfortunately, I think it's something you just have to wait out. Wish I had better advice for you! We had the same thing happen where my LO would roll to his belly and then start crawling and wake up mid crawl and start screaming. Over time, he just got used to being on his belly and stopped screaming and just readjusted himself and went back to sleep.

The past week DD has been waking up multiple times per night on her belly. She is 8 months and can roll all over the place, but for some reason she gets stuck flipped over in her crib (limited space?). She never sleeps on her stomach so as soon as she flips over she lets us know and the crying goes on for quite a while if we don't go in. We just recently got her to start going into her crib awake and fall asleep within a few minutes (yay!), but now half the time she wakes up 5 mins later on her belly!

I know this is fairly common, but I'm wondering how long it lasted for you and if you have any advice? Seems like it's one of those things you just ride out, but maybe someone has some crazy baby magic trick :)
