@Ms. RV: I did gifts for the morning lady and then the two "permanent" teachers. So Three gifts...$50/each approx. I also did bagels for the center yesterday - to catch all those women who rotate in. In the past I have brought the director and assistant director homemade gifts - cookies - I will do the same this year. All in...its probably about $200 (individual gifts - $150; bagels $30; two homemade gifts $20).

@Mamaof2: where did you find the 12 pack of polish? I'm leaning towards Essie Holiday sets which comes to about $3/bottle from eBay! But I could use some $ paring down!

@Ms. RV: My DS goes to before and after care and so there are 9 teachers.

I got them each a pair of fuzzy socks (on sale for $2 at target) and then I bought a 12 pack of mini polishes ($12) and will put those in a bag along with some chocolate.

Cute gift w/o spending gobs of money!

How about a mini lotion or sanitizer from Bath and Body attached to a holiday thank you card for the extras? Less than $5/person.

@T.H.O.U.: Food group gifts are taboo. The older kids get breakfast served by the teachers in the common area and if you bring in food apparently all hell can break loose because some kiddos get upset if the teachers don't share. I can't think of any group gifts that aren't food related.

Why is a group gift taboo? I think maybe doing individual cards and then a group gift would be nice (plus a direct give to the main teachers).

There are two main teachers in LO's room. They definitely are getting something. One of them works only four days a week and also leaves at 3pm, so there is a teacher that flexes in one day a week and then a few others after 3pm. And sometimes the director's or teacher's daughters help out. There's probably eight or nine different people regularly working in LO's room. Do I just get the two people who work in the room 90% of the time gifts? What about the one that is always in there one day a week? Group gifts (like muffins or donuts) are taboo.
