My last employer said that they didn't have them because they didn't want to hire someone that they felt they had to check in on. I get that, you're not going to hire someone untrustworthy. On another note, as a mom, you can never really be sure. Also, with my last family, the dad worked from home about 50% of the time so I never knew if he would be there &amp; when &amp; the video monitor in LO'S room could be logged on to via computer or their phones so if we were in her room they could see us &amp; if we weren't they could still hear us. I check on the live stream at work a few times a day and review the recorded footage at night if our nanny tells me LO had a bad day. Although I agree a nanny has no expectation of privacy, I think full disclosure is the best policy. I think so long as the nanny is aware that cameras are potentially set up all around the house, there aren't S issues as to any possible privacy issues.
